A Swindon citizen is worried for his safety after a number of recent near-misses with cyclists.
The Adver reader, who did not wish to be named, wrote to us to criticise the carelessness of some pedal-powered pedestrians and others who pass him on illegal e-bikes and e-scooters.
He said: “I write as a very concerned dog walker about the very poor standard of far too many cyclists in Swindon.
“I worry, not just for the safety of my dog, but for my own safety also.

“I have very recently had near misses from cyclists coming silently from behind me - the last one doing in excess of 15mph.
“It is clearly very poor manners as well as obviously dangerous.
“I have also been overtaken by people on electric bikes which are illegal to use on pavements or in the town centre.
“It seems that the police do not take any action.
“What will it take for something to be done about this very obvious lawbreaking?”
