Swindon Town were Narrowly beaten by Salford City Two goals to One at the Peninsula stadium.

The result heaps pressure on coach Mark Kennedy with Swindon having now only picked up two wins from their first thirteen games.

Swindon had the worst possible start as Salford scored inside 3 minutes through left winger N,Mai who was left free to slot into the near corner from a low cross from Salford full-back Edwards.

The bad start to the game continued for Swindon as the robins created little to no chances in the first 45 minutes with the only sight at goal being a long-range effort from Harry Smith that went well wide of goal.

Swindon very nearly conceded a second in the 30th minute as Ben Woodburn's close shot was blocked and scrambled away by the Swinton defence to keep the score at 1-0.

Swindon's first half was summed up well by the final bit of action in the half as they got a corner in the dying seconds, but a poor delivery ended up in the hands of Salford goalkeeper Jamie Jones.

Swindon came out with much more purpose in the second half making two changes at half time with manager Mark Kennedy bringing on Longelo and Tshmanga.

The changes paid of almost instantly as shortly into the second half Swindon equalised through a goal out which came out of nothing as Swindon won the ball in midfield before Cotterill played a beautiful ball in behind to Smith who latched onto it and sloted the ball past the Salford Keeper to make it 1-1 in the around the 50th minute.

Swindon then had a 10 minute spell in the game where they were arguably the better of the two sides occasionally looking threatening with having multiple chances to get the ball into the box which were subsequently cleared by Salford.

Swindon also had a chance just before the Salford winner as Butterfield skied high and wide from a promising attack.

Salford are went back in front when John Taylor scored with a volley from the edge of the box after some poor defending by Swindon to make it 2-1 to Salford and put them on course for 3 points with 20 minutes left.

Swindon then pushed for an equaliser with the remaining time in the game and had two golden chances to score.

First Tshimanga squandered a huge chance when he went through on goal but hit his shot straight at the Salford keeper Jamie Jones with 12 minutes of normal time to play.

Swindon continued to push and with five minutes left and missed another huge chance they worked the ball out to Wright and Longelo fired a free header high and wide with five minutes remaining.
