Mark Kennedy has said speculation about his job "does not worry him" after his side lost 2-1 to Salford on Tuesday night.
Kennedy insisted that he felt that his job remained safe and that he had the backing of the board saying that he felt he had "built a good culture in the dressing room" and wants to continue to serve as head coach of this great club. He did however say that felt at times "players were letting each other down on the pitch" but did also note that he felt that the performances are showing the potential the squad has although results at the moment were not forthcoming.
The comments may not go down well with certain sections of Swindon fanbase some of whom have turned against Mark Kennedy in recent weeks as the club towards to foot of league two table.
Kennedy blamed individual mistakes for the clubs poor run of results saying that "moments of madness" have cost us like the second goal tonight" he also said he had no explanation for such mistakes and he could not explain why such errors continued to occur defensively but did say that everyone in playing squad and the management do accept responsibility for the results and the clubs current run of form.
He also explained that he was rueing missed chances in the second half but this ultimately "did not cost them the game" against Salford and noted that the Swindon Goalkeeper had very little to do on the night despite the defeat and blamed the goals on poor defensive errors from his own side.
Despite the run of form and the teams position in the table Kennedy also stressed that "the dressing room remained positive" and said that he "still believes in the ability of the playing squad." But he also acknowledged that the players will need to produce results soon to match the potential that they posses.
Kennedy also offered an update on the fitness of Liverpool academy graduate Paul Glatzel who he confirmed was suffering with a hamstring injury and that was the reason he was not included tonight as well as club captain Ollie Clarke missing out due to Illness.
He also confirmed that the yellow card he received during the game against Salford was due to a disagreement with the linesman over a series of throw in decisions that he expressed he displeasure with during the game and was subsequently booked for dissent. Kennedy said that he "defended himself and stood his ground" and that "the referee had a go at him for something he was not doing"
