A pub on the Wiltshire border is preparing to relaunch in the new year with a new owner.

The Wheelwrights Arms in Monkton Combe, near Bath, will be taken over by Jack Golden.

Mr Golden said: "I'm excited to be taking over the Wheelwrights Arms and I look forward to revitalising the space.

"The pub has always been a key part of the community, and I can't wait to share the refreshed venue with everyone when we reopen in 2025.

"We aim to create a welcoming environment that both locals and visitors will enjoy."

The pub, which has an open fire and gardens, is a 10 minute drive from the centre of Bath.

Lindsay Holdoway, managing director of Bath property company HPH, which owns the pub, said: "We had a lot of interest in the opportunity at the Wheelwrights Arms, and we're very excited about the new operator taking over.

"They're bringing fresh ideas, a new approach, and a clear vision for what they want to offer, which is great news for both the local community and the wider area the pub serves.

"We’re really looking forward to seeing the pub thrive under their direction - and, of course, to having dinner there soon."
