A new ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging hub has opened in Royal Wootton Bassett.
The facility, launched by Fastned, which now has 27 charging hubs in the UK, can accommodate up to six electric vehicles at a time.
Located just off the M4 on the A3102, it offers drivers in the Swindon area and the South West up to 300 miles of range in 20 minutes.
The hub was co-developed with Carbana, a self-service car wash, allowing drivers to charge and clean their cars at the same location.
Tom Hurst, UK country director for Fastned, said: "Ultra-rapid charging is still very much needed in the South West, so I'm delighted to announce that our Royal Wootton Bassett charging hub is now open.
"I’d like to thank Carbana for its collaboration in developing this site, which will be an important mobility hub for this part of Wiltshire."
Simon Moxon, founder and CEO of Carbana, added: "All drivers should have the option to get their car washed in a place that’s convenient for them.
"That’s why we worked with Fastned to develop the Royal Wootton Bassett charging hub.
"We want to give electric drivers the same service as all our other customers."
