The café and bar at Platform Four of Swindon Railway Station is to get a rebrand, assuming officers at Swindon Borough Council agree.
Two applications have been submitted to change the Pumpkin café at the station to a Café Local.
Derisk (UK) Limited has put in an application for planning permission to make very minor changes to the layout of the cafe and replace its branding with a new navy blue sign saying Café Local.
It says: “This shall include new signage, internal fixtures and fittings and minor mechanical and electrical works.
In terms of how the work will affect the historic GWR station fabric, the application says: “No changes. Works are minor, and to ensure a renewed unit which looks both appealing, but not detracting.”
Cafer operator Select Service Partner Ltd has put in a bid for licensing approval: “To vary the hours for the sale of alcohol from 07.00 until 23.00 daily and to remove the embedded restrictions in respect of the sale of alcohol on Good Friday and Christmas Day.”
No decision has yet been made on either application.
