An exclusive new bar and lounge in Swindon is opening next week.
MASQ Swindon started advertising itself last month as a “premier bar and club experience” for customers aged 23 or older.
Black and white signs featuring a Venetian masquerade mask have gone up outside the Godwin Court site which will be the new hotspot’s home.
The team behind this venture has revamped the space formerly occupied by Kenzo72 before that restaurant relocated to Wood Street.

Ahead of the grand opening on Friday, November 22, more details have been revealed about what guests can expect.
A spokesperson said: “Step into MASQ, Swindon’s ultimate destination for luxury nightlife.
“Our exclusive venue combines sophisticated ambience, world-class drinks, and a vibrant social scene, all under one roof.
"Whether you’re looking to unwind with friends in our stylish VIP area, enjoy a night of music, or indulge in table service, MASQ delivers an unforgettable experience every time.
“Become an exclusive member at the MASQ and get access to our private bar in Swindon. The go-to place for premium drinks, cocktails, and entertainment in Old Town.
“With a MASQ Member Card, you’re not just in, you’re at the top - with priority entry and a pass into experiences few can only imagine."
A licensing application submitted by Giulia Ghelardi requests that the opening hours of the existing premises licence for 72-74 Godwin Court be amended so that the venue can open from 12pm to 4am, during which time staff can play live and recorded music and serve alcohol and late night refreshments.
The application also requests the removal of various conditions:
One condition requires that staff are not allowed to serve alcohol until they complete training for the Challenge 25 policy and what to do when drunk customers request to be served, and that this training is documented in records kept on-site and made available for inspection upon request from the authorities.
Another condition requires that a bound incident book is used to record incidents of disorder or anyone who is detained or escorted from the premises, and that this book is also kept on-site and made available for inspection if necessary.
The third condition that the management team wants to remove relates to glasses and bottles being banned from the smoking area.
Requested amendments to further conditions would allow open containers in the smoking area, increase capacity from 200 to 300 people, and change the time that the public must leave the premises to between 2am and 4am.
