One of Swindon's newest tourist attractions has appointed a new director.

Matt Moore has taken up the position at the Science and Innovation Park in Wiltshire, having joined the Science Museum 25 years ago as an explainer.

He will now lead the operational, commercial, and access teams at the park.

In his new role, he will be focusing on developing the park into a thriving hub for collaborative innovation and research.

Mr Moore has also worked in the communications, project management, and estates teams.

He has a "keen interest" in sustainable development, having championed the delivery of a 50MW solar farm and the planting of more than 48,000 trees.

Previously, he was an outdoor pursuits instructor working on the Jurassic coast and is a trustee for the Marlborough Downs Space for Nature programme and the MEMO project on the Isle of Portland.

The Science and Innovation Park is a 545-acre former RAF airfield near Swindon.

It features native woodlands, extensive runways and hangars, one of the UK’s largest solar farms, and the Hawking Building, which is home to much of the Science Museum Group collection.

Having opened in October, the building is accessible for guided public tours, and school and research visits.
