People who have received care at the Great Western Hospital have been invited to share their experiences by Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The trust is also interested in hearing from those who have received care through its community healthcare service in Swindon.

People with physical disabilities, communication difficulties, and hidden disabilities, such as neurodivergent conditions, are particularly encouraged to attend as the trust seeks to understand the experiences of these groups.

The event, called 'Change the Narrative,' is set to take place on Thursday, October 17, from 1.30pm until 3.30pm at the Central Community Centre in Emlyn Square, Swindon.

It will aim to bring together people who are willing to share their experiences of accessibility within the healthcare system.

This includes patients, carers, and visitors, and those from communities that have historically faced health inequalities, such as the white Gypsy or Irish Traveller, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani communities.

The feedback gathered will help the trust to create a better understanding of the needs and challenges faced by different communities when accessing healthcare.

This is part of the trust’s work to ensure its healthcare services are equally accessible to everyone.
