Four Swindon sites have received new food hygiene ratings.

The Food Standards Agency has published the latest results of recent inspections at a kebab shop, secondary school, fast food franchise, and industrial estate unit.

All of them received the highest possible overall mark of five out of five.

Swindon Borough Council’s food hygiene team inspected the Subway sandwich shop on Barnfield Close in Rodbourne on August 30, with very good standards found in hygienic food handling, management of food safety, and cleanliness and condition of the facilities and building.

The Bounce Park at the Deanery Academy on Peglars Way had similar standards when inspectors visited on August 20, as did Baxter Storey Ltd’s RWE-managed site in Trigonos on Windmill Hill Business Park in Blagrove on August 30.

The Britannia Kebab – Fish and Chips takeaway on Faringdon Road had good standards in all three categories during an inspection on September 3.

Hygienic handling of food includes preparation, cooking, re-heating, cooling and storage.

Cleanliness and condition of facilities and building to enable good food hygiene includes having an appropriate layout, ventilation, hand washing facilities and pest control.

Management of food safety involves the system or checks in place to ensure that food sold or served is safe to eat, evidence that staff know about food safety, and that standards will be maintained.
