Nearly 200 people turned out for a community celebration in Swindon last week.

Residents at Wichelstowe, a housing development set to deliver 2,000 homes over 30 years, enjoyed pizza, ice creams, face painting and sports.

They gathered at The Orchards, where there are still some homes available to be bought at both Orchards Rise and Orchards View.

One of the biggest local authority joint venture agreements in the country, Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are building the properties in partnership with Swindon Borough Council.

The two housebuilders joined with community group The Stowe at Wichelstowe to organise the weekend neighbourhood party and bring together everyone who has already moved into the site.
