An R.E.M tribute band is set to perform at a concert in Swindon later this year.
R.E.M by Stipe will appear at Christ Church on Cricklade Street on September 21 from 8pm to 11pm.
The event will also serve as a fundraiser for the Swindon Old Town Partnership of Churches' annual project, with the three churches involved aiming to raise £2,000 each.
Formed in 1980, R.E.M played a significant role in shaping the alternative rock scene. Their music remains relevant and loved, despite disbanding in 2011.
The tribute band is composed of four seasoned musicians dedicated to providing fans with an authentic R.E.M performance.
With the addition of extra musicians on stage to recreate album tracks in their true form, attendees can expect a night filled with nostalgic hits.
Money raised from the concert will be used to support Street Pastors, a volunteer group which engages with people on the streets to provide practical support during the late-night hours, and Swindon Youth for Christ, which offers opportunities for young people to build life skills and explore faith.
Tickets are available for £12.00, for both adult and children, plus 50p booking fee via the Christ Church Swindon website.
