A man has ended up in court after kicking his ex's stepfather in the head after entering their flat without permission.
Cai Buttolph of Alexandra Drive, London appeared before Swindon Magistrates Court on Thursday August 31.
He pleaded guilty to one charge of causing actual bodily harm by assaulting his ex-partner’s stepfather.
Ben May, prosecuting told the court the incident took place in Chippenham on December 23, 2022.
He said: “The defendant has entered the flat of his ex-partner without her consent.
“He has assaulted the stepfather… the defendant has kicked him multiple times to the head.”
The assault resulted in a bump on his head as well as bruising around his left eye.
The 26-year-old has been released on conditional bail with the condition to not contact his ex-partner's stepfather.
There was question over whether there should be restriction on Buttolph’s contact with his ex-partner however Buttolph’s defence solicitor, Luke Jameson told the court: “They do have a child together and I don’t think Mr Buttolph has contact but that is something he might pursue."
Buttolph is to reappear at Swindon Magistrates Court on October 27 for sentencing, the case has been adjourned until then for a pre-sentence report to be carried out.
