Derry Hill post office has re-opened and it will be staying open for longer than before.

The post office, at 48 Church Road, closed temporarily in March 2020 due to the pandemic and the postmaster decided to retire.

Now the branch has re-opened under new management and it is now in a SPAR store. The post office has the postmaster for Christian Malford, Tina May, at the helm and the postmaster for Weston, Rahn Heer, managing the branch.

Initially, the opening hours will be Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm and Saturday 8.30am to 12.30pm. This is double the length of the previous opening hours.

Antoinette Chitty, Post Office Network lead, said: “We are delighted to have restored post office services to Derry Hill as we know how important a post office is to a community.”
