The PC World store at Greenbridge that was temporarily occupied by a charity after the tech shop merged with Currys may be home to a new business soon.
Computers for Africa had a licence to use the former PC World building as a base of operations in Swindon, but this ended when Currys’ lease ran out in September.
The charity left the property then and the building has remained empty since.
But M&G Real Estate which manages Greenbridge Retail Park has revealed that the unit might not remain empty for long as it is in early stage discussions with a potential new occupier.
This is good news for Greenbridge and particularly that side of the shopping area, where the former PC World, Laura Ashley and Maplin stores form a wall of abandoned units.
Retail giants Argos also pulled out recently.
But it is bouncing back with the impending arrival of a Smyths Toy store, a Cancer Research UK Superstore and a new Cuban restaurant.
