WARMINSTER School pupil Matthew Hodgson was awarded a Commander’s Special Achievement coin by Brigadier Dan Reeve this week.
The presentation took place at The RIFLES headquarters Infantry Officers’ Mess in Warminster in recognition of his appointment as the Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet for Wiltshire for 2020-2021.
Matthew has supported Mrs Sarah Rose Troughton, the Lord Lieutenant for Wiltshire and the Queen’s representative in the county, at a number of formal occasions and events.
He was chosen for the appointment having risen to the rank of Colour Serjeant Cadet in the Warminster School Combined Cadet Force.
Brigadier Reeve, The RIFLES Colonel for London and the South, said: "Only the very best cadets are considered for this important appointment.
"We in The RIFLES are enormously proud that Matt was selected for this role."
"It is testament to his hard work and to the exemplary leadership that he has displayed in Warminster Combined Cadet Force."
