MORE than 100 new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Swindon.
Including the latest 117, there have been 802 positive Covid-19 tests recorded around the borough within the last seven days, which is 21 more than the week before.
As of August 23, Swindon's infection rate was 351.1 cases per 100,000 population.
The government has said a further 133 people had died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, bringing the UK total to 132,376.
Separate figures published by the Office for National Statistics show there have been 156,000 deaths registered in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.
As of 9am on Saturday, there had been a further 32,406 lab-confirmed Covid-19 cases in the UK.
Government data up to August 27 shows that of the 90,466,529 Covid jabs given in the UK, 47,958,928 were first doses, a rise of 43,160 on the previous day.
Some 42,507,601 were second doses, an increase of 128,248.
Up to and including Friday, 162,129 people in Swindon received one dose of the coronavirus vaccine while 139,168 had received both doses.
