BALLOT BOX: But what area will your MP represent?
CHIPPENHAM residents will head back to the polls soon to vote for a new councillor to represent the Pewsham ward following the death of Cllr Richard Bambury.
A notice of vacancy was put up by the Wiltshire Council last month after the death of Cllr Bambury who was re-elected to the Pewsham ward in May.
More than 10 requests have now been received for the vacancy, which means that an election will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021. If this had not happened the vacancy would be filled by co-option.
For this election, the deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, July 20 with notice of the poll announced on July 28.
