A destroyed van was discovered in a woodland near Malmesbury.
The white transit van, which was found in Flisteridge Woods near Minety, has been ravaged by flames.
Officers believe the fire took place on Monday night, March 25 and are looking for anyone with information or CCTV footage which could assist their investigation.
A spokesperson for Malmesbury Police said: "The van has no engine so it is unknown how it has been transported to the location.
"We are appealing for witnesses who may have any information, CCTV or dash cam footage of this incident.
"Information can be reported to us by calling 101 quoting crime reference number 54240034859."
