A huge weather front including lighting and thunder is on its way to Wiltshire.

The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for which will come into force from around 1pm on Wednesday to the relief of people who have been struggling in the heat.

Throughout the afternoon and tomorrow, the weather will change with cooler temperatures expected.

According to the weather website Ventusky, a thunderstorm has been slowly making its way eastwards from Dorset and North Somerset.

This is what the Met Office is warning to expect:

Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.

Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

A spokesman for the Met Office said: “Heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop across central, southern and eastern parts of England on Wednesday afternoon.

“Whilst most places will see only small amounts of rain there is a chance of some isolated heavy downpours and lightning.

“Where these occur a few sites could see 20-30 mm in an hour and 50 mm in 3 hours.”
