A shopper had her purse stolen as she was at a supermarket till and was assaulted when she tried to get it back.

The victim, who is in her 40s, was paying for her shopping at Iceland in Cricklade Road at 7.30pm on July 7 when two people stole her purse and four cans of cider from the end of the checkout.

Police said as she left the store she saw the pair at the ATM outside, holding her purse. She attempted to take it back but was hit on the arm. Two of her bank cards were stolen.

Officers have issued CCTV and want to speak to the two people pictured in connection with the incident.
