Britain's top music festivals including Latitude Festival, Leeds Festival, LodeStar Festival and Lechlade Music Festival have donated hundreds of tickets, through the charity Tickets For Troops, for this summer’s festival season.

In a significant year which marks the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, festival organisers have shown their support of the UK country’s servicemen and women.

Day, weekend and camping passes have been donated, with some tickets worth hundreds of pounds each, to enable troops and their families to enjoy first class music for free.

The charity was set up in 2009 to recognise the brave servicemen and women who spend months away from their families, need to be available to serve at short notice and put their lives on the line for our country.

Now the organisers have shown hey recognise their commitment, drive and dedication by offering them, tickets to events which they can share with their loved ones, as a small acknowledgement of the work they do.

Festival organisers which have donated so far are: The Isle of Wight Festival, Leeds Festival, LodeStar Festival, Latitude Festival, Cornbury Music Festival, Staxtonbury Festival, The Godney Gathering, British Summer Time Hyde Park, UK Live, Tribfest and Lechlade Music Festival in Gloucestershire.

Lord Marland, chairman of Tickets For Troops said: “As we approach Armed Forces Day on 28th June and mark the 100th anniversary of WW1 in July, we are delighted and truly grateful that festival organisers are getting behind our marvellous service personnel.”
