THE Wessex Stoma Support Group raised £457 for the Stars Appeal's Caring 4 Kids Campaign at their annual table sale held at Southern Counties Auctioneers.
This is the second year running that the group has supported the Stars Appeal, and club members presented physiotherapist Anne-Marie Whiting and Lauren, a patient from the Children's' Unit, with their cheque.
Lauren is one of the 6,000 children a year who will benefit from the Caring 4 Kids campaign, which was launched earlier in the year to raise £1 million to help fund state-of-the-art facilities and equipment in a new children's centre at Salisbury District Hospital.
Lauren has cerebral palsy and has to come to the hospital every week for physiotherapy.
Her mum, Ann Morgan, said: "To be able to bring Lauren to a dedicated centre that is focussed on the children would make such a difference. Making Lauren's time attending clinics more fun and less like hospital would be absolutely brilliant for her."
In a separate event, the Inner Wheel Club of Wilton raised £800 for the Caring 4 Kids campaign, following a wedding celebration.
The group would like to thank Southern Counties Auctioneers for the use of their venue in Netherhampton Road, Salisbury in memory of Elizabeth Perrott, who was a member of the Wilton Club.
Hannah Paye, Fundraising Coordinator at Salisbury District Hospital said: "If you are a member of a club or group who would like to support the campaign then please call the Stars Appeal office on 01722 429005 or email info@starsappeal.org and request a fundraising pack."
